Each semi-choke dog collar features handcrafted beadwork and colorful fabric trim. Sturdy and durable, these dog collars may be worn in water or put through the washing machine without damage. Made of sturdy nylon webbing, the collars come in a variety of colors: red, blue, black, yellow, pink and orange. Bead embellishments range from modern to traditional styles.

The beaded leather dog collar is made entirely by hand in the USA by talented leather craftspeople and bead artists. The leather dog collars are made of double shoulder natural leather, which we then season in the bright California summer sunshine. This all-natural process protects dogs from contact with residual dyes or residues. The leather will darken to a lovely patina with wear. A bit of leather cleaner and conditioner will keep it soft and functional for years.

Our dogs have been wearing these collars for three years and the beads are still holding strong!

The beadwork on the beaded leather collars is hand crafted on a beadloom. Each collar is embellished with a hand loomed bead strip in an original pattern inspired by ancient traditions and by modern art.

How to measure for a dog collar:

Measure the dog's neck at the base of the neck where the dog would normally wear a collar.

Add 2 inches (this ensures the collar will move freely).

Collars are designated by length of the collar from end to end.

13" collars fit dogs with necks 7 to 9 inches

16" collars fit dogs with necks 10 to 12 inches

20" collars fit dogs with necks 14 to 16 inches

22" collars fit dogs with necks 17 to 19 inches

24" collars fit dogs with necks 20 to 22 inches

Remember: The wider the collar, the tighter the fit. Our 12" collars are 3/8 inches wide; our 16" collars are 3/4 inches wide; our 20" and larger collars and all semi-choke collars are 1" wide.

Semi-Choke Collars: Collars slip over the dog's head and then are sized down by adjusting the webbing. The collar should fit comfortably around the dog's neck including the 2-inch tab. When the collar's 1-inch sold brass o-ring is pulled, it tightens the collar by 2 inches to get the dog's attention without cutting off the air supply. Ideal for training pups because it grows with your dog. All metal findings. Sturdy and durable.
